AeroMesh Privacy Notice

App privacy summary
AeroMesh is a nearby, internet-free chat app for iPhone and iPad. It is designed to discover nearby devices, create or join local rooms, and exchange messages through a local mesh without operating an AeroMesh cloud chat server.
- We do not use advertising SDKs, analytics SDKs, or cross-app or cross-website tracking technologies.
- We do not upload your chat messages, room list, nearby peer list, or room history to our servers.
- We do not sell personal information or use your chat content to train models.
Data stored on your device
AeroMesh may store a local peer identifier, display name, app preferences, recent room state, recent messages, and diagnostic logs on your device so the app can identify your local participant and display nearby room activity. This information is controlled by your device and can be removed by deleting app data or uninstalling the app.
AeroMesh does not create an account system, does not require a phone number, and does not require an email address for normal app use.
Nearby mesh communication
AeroMesh uses Bluetooth and local network capabilities to discover and communicate with nearby Apple devices. Room names, room descriptions, member display names, join and leave events, and chat messages are transmitted to nearby devices as needed for room discovery and message delivery.
Because mesh communication depends on nearby devices, messages and room metadata may be relayed through devices in radio range. Choose room names, display names, and message content with that nearby audience in mind.
Permissions
Bluetooth permission is used to discover nearby devices and maintain local chat connections. Local Network permission is used to support nearby discovery and local transport. You can disable these permissions in iOS Settings, but AeroMesh may no longer be able to find rooms or send messages.
AeroMesh does not request camera, microphone, location, contacts, photos, or tracking permissions for its core nearby chat features.
Room passwords
A room password is an optional joining control. AeroMesh uses a password-derived hash to check whether a user can join a password-protected room. Do not reuse important passwords, and do not treat room passwords as a guarantee suitable for regulated, highly sensitive, or emergency communication.
Airplane mode and safety limits
AeroMesh can work without cellular data or internet. In airplane mode, you may need to manually turn Wi-Fi and Bluetooth back on before opening the app. AeroMesh cannot override aircraft, airline, venue, regulatory, or operating system radio restrictions.
AeroMesh is intended for nearby small groups. It should not be your only method for emergency communication, medical coordination, flight crew instructions, legal notices, financial decisions, or any situation where failed or delayed delivery could create risk.
Technical support email
If you choose to contact technical support by email, we receive your email address, message content, and any device model, iOS version, AeroMesh version, Bluetooth state, screenshots, logs, and reproduction steps you choose to provide. We use this information only to respond to and troubleshoot the issue you reported.
Do not send sensitive chat content, room passwords, ID numbers, medical records, payment information, or other unnecessary sensitive personal information in support emails.
Third-party SDKs, advertising, and tracking
The current version of AeroMesh does not integrate advertising SDKs, third-party analytics SDKs, crash reporting SDKs, or cross-app or cross-website tracking SDKs. We do not collect device identifiers for advertising purposes and do not request App Tracking Transparency authorization.
Retention and deletion
Locally stored app data remains on your device under your control. You can leave rooms, delete app data where iOS allows, or uninstall AeroMesh. Technical support emails may be retained for a reasonable period needed to complete support, handle disputes, or comply with legal obligations.
